BPC Karemore

INTRODUCTION

Hello and welcome to BPC Karemore Out of School Club! - This page is designed to give you as much information as possible about how the club is run and what we require from you. The club is run with a great deal of input from both the children and you the parents. Any constructive comments, or ideas, will be gratefully received.

WHO ARE KAREMORE?

Karemore Childcare Limited is a family based business which was established in 1999. It is operated by Kirsty Morison. Kirsty has many years of experienced in child care and also has a number of qualifications in child care including her BA Childhood Practice, SVQ III and IV in Playwork, ICS Diploma in Child Day Care and ICS Diploma of Child Psychology. Kirsty opened Karemore’s first club in Bearsden in August 2001 and has gone on to enjoy continued success with two more clubs based in Dowanhill (August 2005) and Kelvinhaugh (January 2007). Dowanhill and Kelvinhaugh Primary School are now closed and have amalgamated with Hillhead and Willowbank Primary School into the new Hillhead Primary School on Gibson Street. Karemore now has a 50 place Out of School Club based in the new premises.

HALL ONE

This hall is used a Cloakroom for the children to store their belongings in. We provide large “trugs” for the children to place their jackets and bags in.

HALL TWO

This hall is used by our Primary 1 – 3 children and is a general playroom. We provide a wide range of activities including: Lego, play dough, jigsaws, collage, modelling, marbles etc. They also have the option of going into The Sanctuary and going outside if the weather permits!

HALL THREE

Hall three is used as our “Snack” room. The Snack Bar is set up for the children to help themselves to what they would like to eat and to take to the snack table to eat! We have a laminated announcement on the frieze board which lets everyone know what the snack is for that day!

THE SANCTUARY

The Sanctuary is a very large hall. This hall can be used for a number of different activities and is also used for physical games.

HALL FOUR

This is where the children in Primary 4 -6/7 spend their time at the club. They also have the option of going into The Sanctuary and going outside if the weather permits!

This room also features a snack bar. The Snack Bar is set up for the children to help themselves to what they would like to eat and to take to the snack table to eat! We have a laminated announcement on the frieze board which lets everyone know what the snack is for that day!

This hall is where all the groups come together at the end of the day for various ring and team games.

HALL FIVE

This Hall is upstairs used for group activities such as Movie afternoons, House Group Meetings, Children’s Committee etc.

Due to our numbers and our staff to children ratios, the use of rooms may vary day to day however, we always ensure that the children have access to a wide range of activities and are able to take part in any activity that they wish to do so.

THE GARDENS AND PLAYGROUND

We have use of the church’s gardens and also permission from the school to utilise the playgrounds. This enables us to get the children outside and play if the weather permits!
